Sandra Rose (Mendes) Lacey, age 75 went home to be with The Lord on Tuesday October 3rd, 2023. Beloved wife of Ernest E. Lacey Jr. The couple were married for 55 years. Sandra was the beloved mother of Michelle D. Lacey RN. The beloved grandmother of Ashley N. Lacey and Larry Mitchell Lacey (Stephanie Ivelisse Aponte) of Providence. Born in Pawtucket RI, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Mendes and Rose Sequeira Mendes, sister of Roberta Mendes Atlanta Georgia, and Charles Mendes of Providence, RI. Sandra was educated in the Pawtucket school district. Working for School House Candy, Bell Telephone Co. and retiring from Brown University. She was a former member of Macedonia UAME Church, serving as church Sunday School Teacher and a member of the Steward Board as well as the Hospitality Committee.

Sandra was an avid reader, she enjoyed Arts and Crafts, Sewing, Cooking, and gardening. She enjoyed helping and giving to others having a heart of compassion and loving kindness. Sandra was preceded in death by her brothers Gary, Richard, Edward, Robert, Raymond Mendes and sister Cynthia Mendes. She also leaves a host of family member and friends who loved her and will miss her our Chatty Cathy.

Relatives and Friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Saturday, October 7th from 2pm-4pm in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave., Lincoln. Burial will be private in R.I Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter, RI.
